Ready to remove or reposition your KontrolFreek Performance Grips? No problem!
Performance Grips are designed to be removable and can be repositioned, but taking your time will help protect both the grip and your controller.
Before you start:
Make sure your controller is powered off and unplugged.
We also recommend removing the grips in a clean, dry area so you can keep the adhesive surface free from dust or debris if you plan to reuse them.
How to remove your Performance Grips:
- Start at one edge or corner of the grip.
- Slowly lift the edge using your fingers. Avoid using sharp tools or anything that could scratch your controller.
- Once you have an edge lifted, gently peel the grip back a little at a time.
- Continue slowly until the entire grip has been removed.
Avoid pulling or ripping the grip off quickly. A slow, steady peel will help protect the adhesive and make it easier to reuse the grip afterward.
Will Performance Grips leave adhesive behind?
Performance Grips are designed to remove cleanly without leaving sticky residue on your controller.
If you notice any remaining residue, avoid scraping it with a sharp object. Gently wipe the area with a soft, dry cloth before attempting anything stronger.
Can I put the grips back on?
Yes! Performance Grips can be removed and repositioned.
Keep in mind that repeated removal and reapplication can gradually reduce the strength of the adhesive.
If you plan to reinstall them, try to keep the adhesive side clean and avoid touching it more than necessary.
What if the grip is difficult to remove?
Don't force it.
Start from another corner and slowly work your way around the grip until you can begin peeling it back comfortably.
If the grip still seems unusually difficult to remove or you're concerned about damaging your controller, stop and contact our Customer Care team before continuing.
What if my grip won't stick after I reinstall it?
Repeated removal, dust, oils, or other debris can affect the adhesive over time.
If your Performance Grip no longer attaches securely after being repositioned, contact our Customer Care team and let us know what happened. If possible, include a photo of the grip and controller so we can take a closer look.
